Bella
Bella

Bella’s doing well.  I might start calling her Shadow since she won’t let me out of her sight.  I even had to stay in the kitchen with her eating.  Each time I left the kitchen she stopped eating to follow me.

She had the run of the house while I was at school today and she was the perfect lady.  She doesn’t seem to like grass though.  She’s been going on the patio and when I walk her into the grass she can’t get back to the concrete ground quick enough.  I’m happy that it’s not in the house so we’ll work on that over time.

She and her sister are getting along well.  Her brother has gone into hiding.

Once again thank you for this sweet girl.

George and Grumpy

It was a very special day at Basset Rescue of Florida when two wonderful seniors, George and Grumpy, went to their very special forever home.  This pair of 8 year old handsome hounds had never met prior to joining their new family but quickly decided they had hit the jackpot.  Here is a report from their new mom:

So far we have learned that Grumpy is our outside boy, and George is the inside boy!  Grumpy has taken over George's bed (but George takes the couch instead).  Grumpy loves to dump his food on the floor and THEN eat! : )  Michael likes to practice reading to the dogs.  And George always protests when I do my homework - because I am not petting him, so he takes it upon himself to lay on my books so he won't be ignored!  HE is sooo cute!  We love them both!!!

Congratulations George and Grumpy and to the Pudlo/Murillo family.  May you have many happy years together.

Daisy
11/05/07 -

Little Miss Daisy went to her forever home with Lana and Steve S.  Here is what her new Dad had to say about her first day in her new home:

Just want to let you know that Daisy had a GOOD first day. On the trip home she rode in the box (crate) until Okeechobee where she pawed at the door so we stopped and let here out. She had to potty. Then the rest of the way home she rode in Lana's lap, my wife wanted to make sure see could see out the window. They bonded. We worked with her all day, and she really enjoys the big yard and has done all her business outside to this point. She is a very loving and happy dog and we are proud to have her as a part of our family. My daughter brought her Beagles over for a short time and they got along very well. Boy can Daisy run. She kept right up with the Beagles. She can really make her short legs go. Also she really likes to play tug of war with an old sock. We had fun with the sock before I left for work this morning. Just so you know Lana will be home for lunch today, my daughter will be over tomorrow around noon and we have already figured out the rest of the week so someone will be home around noon to spend a little time with her in the middle of the day. In closing all I can say is THANK YOU

Yomie
Yomie

Hi Pam,

Just wanted to touch base with you and all the volunteers at basset rescue. Lucy(Yomie) has turned out to be such a great addition to our family. She is so loving and affectionate and gets along well with our other basset and dachshund. She has put on weight and is about 38 lbs. now. We enjoy basset "wrestlemania" every evening with the dachshund serving as a very yappy referee. Sometimes it seems like a three ring circus, but it keeps us laughing.

I've attached some photos of our happy hound trio. As you can see, they have elevated relaxation to an art form!
