Basset Rescue of Florida, Inc. is a not for profit charity with 501(c)(3) status with the IRS meaning that donations made to BRF are tax deductible as allowed by law.  We are also registered with the State of Florida as a non profit corporation and with the Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services allowing us to legally accept donations.

Our work is funded from donations, both large and small, from people like you.  Most of our donations go straight for veterinary care as each basset arrives in rescue.  The majority of them need spay/neutering, a full set of vaccinations, deworming, a heartworm test with subsequent treatment if positive for heartworms and a microchip.  Many of the bassets also need surgery for things like suspicious masses, dental care and other problems like eye issues.  During their stay with us, our routine expenses are food, monthly flea, tick and heartworm medications as well as other normal day to day expenses relating to caring for a basset.  Most of you know how expensive one dog can be....imagine those expenses times 10 or 15!

Since our rescue is small and we devote most of our spare time to caring for the bassets and getting them adopted, there is little time to fund raise.  You can help us in many ways...

Money donations are always welcomed and you can make a donation through PayPal and even use your credit card.

Donate your boat, car or other big ticket items to be sold or auctioned off to benefit the rescue.  Perhaps you have a craft where you can create something special and unique for us to auction off.  Use your imagination and let us know how you might like to help!
